Gyeongju is a city in the southeastern corner of North Gyeongsang province in South Korea.
It was the capital of the ancient kingdom of Silla (57B.C. - 935A.D.) which ruled about two-thirds of the Korean Peninsula between the 7th and 9th centuries.
Gyeongju Historic Areas is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Bulguksa temple is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Yangdong Folk Village is also a UNESCO World Heritage site from 2010.
